Frances Carraway

The Mire publishes fiction (short stories), non- fiction (essays— including personal essays, college essays and academic essays), poetry, and art. We do not have a word limit.

Unsolicited submissions are accepted from September to April. Our magazine wishes to reach an audience of literary young adults, so please consider the content of your work accordingly.

Submit one story or essay at a time. Submit up to three poems at a time or three pieces of art (both black & white and color accepted).

To submit, please email themiresubmissions@indiansprings.org. Please include your name, title of your work, and the genre in your subject heading.

We do accept paper submissions. We aim to respond to submissions in a timely manner, but please remember our staff is made up of high school students balancing a full-time course load. Accordingly, please wait one month before inquiring about the status of your submission.

We are closed for submissions for the summer. We decided to launch our first issue with writing just from Indian Springs students, but we hope to expand our submissions once more next year. We will update in the Fall of 2019 when we reopen! Thank you for sharing your work!
